Hello, Reddit! I'm Lauren Taylor Shute of Lauren Taylor Shute Editorial. I am a book editor and strategist who works with my team to help writers develop their ideas into books, perfect their manuscripts, and get published. I'm very happy to be here today to answer all of your questions about writing and publishing!

First, a bit of background about me:

I got my start as a corporate editor with some of the top publishing houses here in New York City. I founded LTSE as a response to the rapidly changing and competitive book industry I encountered there, and I've since gone on to help many writers sign with top agents and secure publishing deals. LTSE works in both fiction and nonfiction and across a wide variety of genres, which is made possible by our repertoire of talented and experienced editors. Clients include both published and unpublished authors as well as publishing houses and literary agencies, and most authors work with LTSE for multiple projects and on subsequent books.

I speak regularly about writing and publishing and have been featured in Forbes, Fast Company, and Glamour magazine.

I want to share my knowledge with you all and lift the veil of publishing a bit, so please, ask me anything! I'll be answering questions until 5 pm PST (8 pm EST), and I'll try to get to as many as I can. I'm looking forward to hearing from all of you!
